Adgitize to Monetize

I have spoken a lot about Entrecard as an environment to become exposed to other bloggers in the network, and the benefits that can come with that exposure.   It seems that many Entrecard members are also members of Adgitize, an advertising network that serves ads on publishers’ (bloggers’) sites.  Adgitize publishers place code on their blogs which automatically displays ads on a rotating basis.   Similar to Entrecard, points (and ultimately dollars) are earned based on page views (ad exposures), the number of visits to advertisers’ sites, and so on. Advertisers pay a low monthly fee instead of per click, eliminating click fraud that plagues many ad networks.

In reading bloggers’ comments of Adgitize earnings and references to monthly record payouts on the Adgitize blog, average payouts aren’t large – but that’s not the point.  The point is that it is a complementary network to one that I have already invested substantial time and energy and one where I’ve begun to see real benefits – Entrecard.  Many Adgitize members also utilize Entrecard.  I’m all about gaining efficiencies wherever possible.

After describing my newly-minted EIN as the solution to my security issue with my posting, “The Move to Monetization: Security,” and seeing the benefits of adding Adgitize to my Entrecard-enabled sites, I was in.  Notice the extension of the right sidebar called the Daily Blog Sampler (Entrecard) with the 2 x 4 ad block below it (Adgitize.)   This was a simple addition of script code they provide that I copied to my side bar and it integrates nicely. If you are thinking about monetizing your blog, Adgitize is a great place to start.  Will it be my only monetization strategy?  Of course not.   Has it begun and will it continue to earn a few dollars for me, 24/7?  Absolutely!  My avocation has just taken it’s first small step on the journey to become a vocation.
