Entrecard Boosting Traffic

Entrecard Impacting Traffic
If you recall my April 20 post, Entrecard to Increase Blog Traffic, you’ll remember my optimism about the social, interactive nature of this environment. You can see that my optimism was rewarded. You’ll also notice that after a surge of excitement with my new sandbox, I had some setbacks. All me.
Some computer issues had me out of touch for a while, but once that was resolved, re-engaging fellow Entrecard members has again boosted traffic.
I’ve very pleased with this new environment, but have to admit that I have not yet posted an ad for my own site. That will come. At some point, I will engage a fellow Entrecard member, much more adept at graphics design than I, in some outsourcing work and exchange some ECs (remember, those are the trading credits earned when visiting fellow bloggers.) A good currency to use as a start – the real thing is the longer term goal.
Regardless how you do it, build those relationships. It takes time, but you can see that the time invested reaps rewards.

Wow! That really did help to build up your traffic! Good deal!
I was wondering if you’d heard about u comment, I follow movement among bloggers. Here’s one blog about it:

Sounds intriguing! I may jump on the bandwagon myself.

@Molly Lee
Thanks for the comment. When exploring the link you provided, I found that U Comment I Follow is less to do with a community blog environment (like Entrecard) where the environment allows fellow bloggers to strike new relationships, and of course further their blog traffic.
Instead, the U Comment I Follow movement is more about educating bloggers about how WordPress uses a hardcoded parameter that disables the Google link juice when it finds links in blogs. Google thought that if it ignored links in blogs when assigning page rank, it would discourage comment SPAM. Instead it just lessens the value for a blogger to comment (validly) on someone else’s blog.
I have much more to learn, but I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. This will make for a great posting, with more detail.
Thanks,
Dave
PS: I highly suggest Entrecard as a good first step. There are 52 different categories – here’s just a sample of how many are in some that relate to your site:
2286 Art
209 Graphic Design
200 Kids
840 Hobbies
705 Women’s Interests
That doesn’t count the thousands of other sites housing potential customers. I don’t mean to sell, but I’ve been pleased so far.
